Lineage II: Dark Legacy is a release for smartphones based on the popular MMORPG saga for PC. This time, the genre has moved toward hack n' slash in a 3D action title where you have to beat missions with your team of four adventurers.
Unlike in other titles like Lineage II: Revolution and along the same lines as Lineage M, here the game is backed by NCSoft, who made the originals. Obviously there is screen time for all the races, lore, and locations from the original games in an epic fantasy that boasts dark elves, megalomaniacal deities, and army battles for control of the kingdoms.
The game revolves around a gacha system represented by the different heroes you can recruit and upgrade as you gather objects and experience. You can also switch between characters in real time; each one has special skills and a set cooldown period.
Besides the story mode – and as usual for freemium games – there's an array of game modes such as the PvP arena and even a siege mode where you have to fortify a castle to defend yourself against attacks by enemy teams.
Lineage II: Dark Legacy is a new game that joins the clutch of titles in the universe that gives it its name, though this one is more focused on dynamic real-time battles without abandoning the obligatory gameplays of Asian RPGs.
